Just noticed that you are not yet a site sponsor, this limits what you are able to do on the site, like pm's.

Won't cost you much and well worth it.

memory cards

Just a point about flash cards - I'd noticed posts about 'other than sandisk brand problems' however having a bit of background in computing and photography I'd only encountered Sandisk as the budget option. So I got a new Kingston 'ultrafast' 2gb for £80 all in through an ebay supplier. Still no problems.

I thought it was a bargain.

Well I have taken the plunge, I just orders a 2610 with Garmin Motorcycle mounting kit, £579 all in.

Thanks to all for all the help and advice, I went for the 2610 in the end because I liked the big screen and ease of use and when it came right down to it I couldn’t see me using it off the bike so didn’t really need the portability of the Quest. I had to keep the cost down so I didn’t go for the 2620 as I can spread the cost over time by buying a 2gig SF card at a later date, the standard card will do me for know.

Again thanks everyone for all the help, I will no doubt be starting a new thread shortly asking how to use the thing….

new user!

glad you made your mind up, and I'm sure you won't be disappointed. I was a little concerned when I brought my 2610 that I'd brought an expensive but pretty pointless toy. Now I'm completely sold, and the wife thinks it's the best thing I've brought for ages.

I ended up buying a 1GB Sandisk card for mine for £37 off e-bay. If I'd been a biut more flush at the time I'd have bought a 2GB, but don't have a problem with 1GB for 2 weeks random touring of EU land.

Feel free to ask questions, that's what we are here for ;)

Cheers

I got a 2610 about three weeks ago and just returned from a two week trip around France (in the car  ) . The 2610 performed perfectly! As a GPS virgin I am totally converted. The wife was very pleased as she didnt have to navigate and could read books, sleep, ect. I am very glad I emptied my wallet and bought one :thumb
