I have aquired a set of BMW Sports Panniers (yes I know they won't fit a GS) but the bloody things are locked and I don't have the key 
The dealer told me that without the original key the locked panniers are useless. My thought is if I drill the old locks out then fit some new locks I could have them coded to key number
Has anyone ever done this to either a Vario or Sports Pannier? Is there anything I need to know or should be aware of?
