Another (stupid?) service question

OK, should I be worrying about an annual inspection?

My 1200GS is now 1 year old. It had it's 6000 mile service in December and it has now done just over 8000 miles.
Is a 12 month inspection now necessary or can i wait for the 12000 mile service which should be in the autumn?

My previous bikes have always just based service on mileage, rather than both mileage and age as appears to be case in the owner's book.

I'd rather be safe than sorry, but don't trust asking the dealer for their opinion!

No, it won't need the annual service. The idea of the annual service is for those who cover less than 6000 miles per year. You just need to wait until you have clocked up 12k before it will need another service, assuming you carry on racking up the miles at your current rate.

In my defence Septic, I did do Gibraltar and back in the first 5 weeks of having it, but then just boring commuting every day since! Never mind, National Rally in June followed by 2 weeks around England and Wales
