Another Very Satisfied BTBR Customer (with pictures)

BTRB, where in the country are you at.
Do realy want you to set up me lights, but i live on Isle of Wight, so i have to book boat, find my way and all that, so might need a day or two on the mainland.
Oh also need to see if you will do it of course.
Would have a go fitting myself, but without diagram i wont have a clue.
Also dont know what i would need.

I got my lights from BTBR this summer and they are the best money i've spent on the GS :bounce1

On my last ride at night my mate on his Africa Twin behind me said the lights were so amazing he was thinking of turning his off.

I also found that the micro de light will illuminate all three lanes of the A12. :D

we will have to meet up for a beer somtime so i can see this great work in the flesh :thumb

Alan fitted my lights yesterday, and I think I can safely say that he's done it before and obviously knows what he's doing. :D I was so keen to try them out that I even forgot to thank Mrs BTBR for her special bacon butties. :o

I haven't had a chance to take them out in the dark yet, but even the daytime effect was awesome. When I turned every light on, one lane hogging old dear on the M50 nearly cacked herself. :D

Fantastic - how do I get booked in!!

LOL:aidan
That was October 2006, this thread is old,
Poor Taff has been going hungry for 6 months to get funded for the bike op:aidan
The Great Guru BTBR { aka "stick kicker;) }
Lives not far from you.
I ride a far superior airhead, that does not go fast enough to need his wonderful light installation.
All I have seen, that he has done are absolutely superb:thumb2

Nah.

An early ferry, then up the A34, M40, M42 to Redditch, and reverse to get home.

You'll easily manage it in a day.

Let's see, it took my less than 2.5 hrs to get from Southampton to BTBR's place. He got the job done in around 2 - 3 hours, and the trip back was about the same.

So, it might be a long day, but it could be done --- depending on weather and ferry timings.

Very nice. I should think you'll be able to see through walls with that lot on :)

P.S. I'm glad I'm not the only one that leaves the sidestand down "just in case" :D Unless of course you just forgot.

Blooooooody heeeeeell Alan. :eek

After a cack day at the office, I just had to take the bike out to test the lights at night on some country roads and they are seriously impressive. I reckon they may need adjusting slightly, so the finished effect will even more dramatic.

Sadly, I think the South West Wales moth population is going to take a sudden dip. :D

Great news Taff, as I said to you at the time, I can set them up roughly to start you off.

But to get the maximum benefit you do need to tinker around with them to suit your own personal requirements and riding style.

The next stage if you think that the dipped beam can be improved on, is to add the PIAA Extreme White bulbs to the DE's.

You will then "see" another quantum leap in the performance.

My recommendation is 35W HID's in the Micro DE's! That way you get 2 1/2 times the light output of standard 55W H3's and you save around 20W (1 1/2 Amps) per lamp.

35W HID's are now available on FleaBay for around 65 quid a pair! :thumb2

Wow, that looks seriously impressive, just waiting for my retinas to recover then I'll be fine:cool:
I've not even bought my GS yet and I'm planning mods.....:aidan

...the missus will hae ma guts fur garters:bow
