Bought my 1150GSA from South London last year, been back in a couple of times for tyres and a niggly wee warranty issue, which was never queried, staff just did their best to get it sorted asap (crash bar mounts weld was cracked). Staff always fantastically helpful and keep to schedules regarding phoning you etc., even valeted the bike last time (gratis), an unexpected and nice touch:beerjug::beerjug::beerjug::beerjug:

Keepin Um Clean !

Hi Thor

Thank you for your post and your words of encouragement to the team. We now have a new member of the team who is a “professional” valeter. He cleans all our customers bikes when they are in for any work (FOC).

Hope to see you in again, and to meeting you myself.

Regards

Alaric

I popped down to SLM back in 2004 and came away with a nice new K1200GT! Service was then fantastic. I now live in France and wish that some of the French BMW dealers were a little like SLM for service.

That channel tunnel makes it so easy to get here. Why not pop back for a coffee madman !!!

Sounds like a good idea, but we are 550 miles south of the French channel ports now! If I came back I would now come in the microlight and as far as I remember your forecourt is a little too short for a flying visit.

Bonjour !!

Huuum, me thinks you have a point there madman, although we could clear the bikes and connect a load of cargo nets and bungee straps together out the front, a bit like the sort of thing you see stopping jets landing on an aircraft carrier, which should bring you to a pretty quick stop !! However, thinking more about it, how does that thing perform at circa 150 MPH in a reverse rebound type scenario !!!!!:jibber

OK, so you have sorted some way for me to land. Can you rig up a huge elastic to take off? I don't think that the 100 bhp engine would consider an unassisted take off from the forecourt.
Even if I did drop in I would end up buying another bike so would have to get the wife to ride it back. Would love a K1200R Sport, but would never get it registered in France due to our 100 bhp limit for bikes.

I think your right, the flying option is dead !! 100 bhp limit in France ? I was not aware of that one. What can I say, its a sad day, and we have a great black one here in the showroom !!!

Now that's a thought. Could struggle with a BMW warranty audit however "well.....er.....umm, it’s a sort of GS sir, well it was once anyway....!!!:roll

Yes the microlight does have a boxer engine, four cylinders and made by Rotax. It puts out 100 bhp and can run at nearly max revs all day. I don't think that I would trust anyone else to work on it though, I like to be responsible for my own life!

I keep hearing good things about SLM, makes a change to my past experiences.

Had an email today too about the new bike launch on Saturday.

May make the 2 mile trek for my free bacon roll and see if it is all true:aidan

Await my report.
