Anti Mist Stuff for Specs

I know I'm not the only rider who wears specs under my helmet, so I wonder if anyone knows the answer to this one?

About 4 years ago, at one of the shows, I bought some anti-mist stuff at a stand. The supplier (somewhere in the West Midlands) has since ceased trading. This stuff is like a pink translucent wax bar which you draw across the lenses, back & front. A polish with a small cloth and it works a treat! The trouble is, I can't find it any more.

I've tried all the old remedies, washing up liquid, various commercial solutions, even a raw potato, but nothing works like the pink wax thing. Can anyone help me source it?

Can I ask?

Did this stuff stop the misting or encourage the moisture to disperse?

My instructor had some that I borrowed while doing my DAS. I picked up some at the NEC show the year after. Seems to work o.k. but I haven't needed it since moving to a tour-x (well vented + foggy mask) from a roof boxer (crap ventilation).

Diving Shop

Scuba Divers use it for facemasks, you'll find it in your local diving shop.

Thanks all.

ianf - it looks just like your photo. We've got a Diving Shop about a mile from the house and that'll be my first port of call.

PS: I'm impressed with the answers - I posted the same thread on the BMW Club site a week ago without result. I also emailed MCN and RiDE about a month ago and am still waiting for a reply! Well done the UKGSers! :P

If they haven't got any, pm me, and I'll bung it in the post. It's been gathering dust.

ianf,

Many thanks indeed - I'll try Fat Sam's Diving Shop in Glasgow tomorrow and will get back to you if I draw a blank.

Everyone,

Thanks for the help. I got exactly what I was looking for from Aquatron - Diving Shop in Glasgow and change from a fiver! Result!

Thanks again. :)
