Meeting at Barton Mills cafe at 1 pm on 25th Sept. Riding down to the M11 and back.

Had a flyer left on my bike last weekend. Apparently there will be rides all over the country ..

Allegedly the legislation would mean full hi- via to be compulsory, all bikes to have ABS, no modifications permitted, electronic monitoring kit to enable cops to quickly tell if you have done mods and all bikes over 7 years to be banned from 'urban' areas due to emissions.

I appreciate that not all bikes are more economic than cars but we all sure as shit take up a lot less space.

They don't want us on bikes - they'd rather we were all in cars where they can really tax the frap out of us.

Ride around a bit with an aggrieved expression. That'll stop legislation that will!

Unlikely to see much of any aggrieved expressions with full face helmets :D

Rather like the Iraq War demonstrations, just coz it'll change nothing doesn't mean you shouldn't do it .....

I appreciate that some people like to watch Eastenders or only ride about with people who have the same marque of bike as themselves :green gri

I have been practising my very best aggrieved expression, and it would be a shame to waste it. So... I may well pop along to the 8 Ball Diner and join the fun. :rob

Don't be wearing a full face helmet - especially with a tinted visor - as you'll spoil the effect !

Think I'll go in an open face helmet. The better to show my 'agrievement'.

My respect for groups such as MAG takes a dive when I see quotes such as this:

"France also wants to ban bikes over 7 years old from urban areas for environmental reasons! Their congestion is already terrible and putting more riders into cars that pollute terribly when they are stationary, is bonkers."

that undermines their credibility.

As there is nothing in the proposed legislation to ban bikes over a certain age from entering urban areas that states such owners of 7 year-old bikes must buy cars if they want to enter towns and cities, how much of the other cited proposals is accurate? :nenau
