I'm contemplating an 1150GS but haven't had a chance to take a closer look or try one on for size. Is there anyone in the local area (while I'm off work this week) with one that wouldn't mind me popping by for a ganders?

Go to your dealer with a driving licence and have a test drive on one, no one will let you "have a go" out of the blue and many are suspicius of showing their pride and joy / garage to strangers. Not the same as days gone by but thats how things are nowdays, so go to the dealers Vines of guilford or banhstomers
at Alton someone will have one and away you go.

Cheers Dave but I think you've misunderstood me. Firstly I know I could go and get a test ride on a 1200 at any of the dealers but none of them have an 1150 to look at, let alone ride.
Secondly, I'm not asking to "have a go" on anyone's pride and joy and I wouldn't expect that out of anyone. I just wanted to see one in the flesh to get an idea of size.
I understand people might be hesitant to show anyone their bike / garage / security arrangements but I was just posting this on the off-chance there was someone locally that would oblige. I've met quite a few people off this forum in the flesh and found them to all be very friendly and helpful in the past so I thought it was worth a shot

Oh really? Interesting, they've got nothing on their site (under the list of bikes for sale). In fact according to the Motorrad site there's not a single approved 1150GS in the country!

EDIT: Just had a good chat with Keith (an avid 1150GSer himself) but alas, there are none hiding around the back! He knows what I'm after and we had a good chat so if something turns up I should be the first to know.

Am in Basingstoke, but work in Horsham, so pass through Farnham twice a day on my commute. (although not back at work till next week). Can call in to visit if you like?

hi i'm in Hampshire, Havant about 30-40 minutes from Farnham, i've got a standard 1150 if you want to come and sit on/have a look at... i'm off work from crimbo PM me if you want to come over.....
Looking at it from a different angle ... where in London will you be as there may be a greater chance of meeting up with somebody there.
