I'm very specific about my birds ;)

Will be happy to look at any A-10s not in that colour scheme...and even better if I can have my bike taken next to it?

Cheers,
Lab :beerjug:

Take a trip over to the National Motorcycle Museum near the NEC opposite side of the M42. Sure you'll find at least one in there. :beerjug:

Assume you mean the left one below rather than the right :D Don't know of any in UK, seen a few in the US, National Guard use 'em plus you can climb over one in the Smithsonian

ehehehe - yeah, the one in the air just grand! :D

-Thanks for the tips, guys! Would love to do the Smithsonian, one day! AMARG in Tucson is another must, too. :O)

Check out the RAF Cosford museum. Don't know if they have any A10's but they have just about everything else there:thumby:

Duxford has one in it's American Air Force museum but it's in the green lizard scheme and it's hanging up inside. I don't think they'll winch it down for a photo! Cosford, fantastic though it is, doesn't have one.

The only unit left in Europe is due to be disbanded soon. They are at Spangdahlem in Germany.

The information we can get from people on this site amazes me. Its just a shame there is so much rubbish as well.

Hehehe, thanks for ALL your tips, guys. Looks like I'll be checking-out Duxford soon, then ;)

Man....I've been to Cosford and it was FANTASTIC!!! A few yrs ago, after the first Transformers movie, I was surprised to learn that one of our museums were going to get a MH-53J PaveLow III (aka the Deception, Blackout)!!!! So just imagine how chuffed I was to see it in the flesh!!! :D

There's always one or more at the Fairford Airshow (20-21 July)

Although I don't know if any americans will be attending this year. At this moment no airshows or participations to airshows will be done by american armed forces.

- yes, the recent failure to agree a new budget in Congress, meant an automatic slashing of the defence budget. And everything is being cut back. I understand that the "Blue Angels" will not do any more displays in 2013 for example

Having grown up very close to RAF Bentwaters and Woodbridge the shape of the "Warthog" is oh so familiar. Usually to be seen flying in pairs.

Being friends with several of the "base-kids" meant lots of unofficial visits and several sessions of sitting-in and wondering round A-10s. All things I would imagine would be impossible in these days of heightened security and "terror"

Many happy memories. :thumb

I love the A-10 :D

I recall them doing manouvres over North Lincs in the early 80s. We were seeing them perform incredibly tight turns over Anderby Creek before and after their bomb runs at nearby Donna Nook.

Used to be a couple of great Flight-Sims called A-10 Attack and A-10 Cuba, probably not as sophisticated as modern day Flight-Sims but I used to spend hours on those. Suppose they were never updated, wouldn't work with modern processors I guess :rob

Nothing to add in terms of finding one... Just wanted to add myself as another admirer of the 'hog - Ugly, but well hung :D

Reading all your guys' stories growing-up and seeing them in flight made me...extremely...envious! ;) Thanks for all the plane porn pics, too!
