Hey all just joined the forum after buying a gs (spectacularly impulsively) have said hello in the newbie section....just wondering if there are any other members that live close to me, that i can meet up with for ride days etc

There's a few tossers in this area (Angus/Perthshire)
I'm down in the Monikie area - about 12 miles from you. Happy to meet up sometime - but not out much at this time of year unless the roads are clear of salt or the salt is dry - hate the stuff!
What model of GS did you get? - did you get it locally?

I liked the engine bars although i have. Sneaky suspicion i am going to spend a fortune on aftermarket bits n bobs :-o

It maybe "standard" to you - but the important bit on here is it's a 1200GS.
It could have been an 1100GS or the similar - but much improved 1150GS
It's an 1150GS I have, 2001 and had it from new

You bike looks absolutely immaculate - and it's not even run-in at that mileage

Yeah the low mileage swung it for me cant wait to get on it...tho as you say the crappy weather and horrible salt may stop me....im either picking it up monday evening or they will deliver it to me depending on how the conditions are.

Nice clean bike but not quite standard if it's as in the pics. The ad says Remus exhaust can. I don't know Murray's, in fact I didn't know there was a bike shop in Broughty Ferry. However, they either didn't know or they didn't want to advertise it as such but the bike in the pic is fitted with the Remus headers as well. So it's actually fitted with a Remus full exhaust system which is something you should probably declare to your insurance company. It should certainly give it a nice rasp when you wind it on and a few horsepower more than standard. I know, I had a full system on both my GSes of that vintage. Enjoy it.....

Thanks for the info i had just phoned to check that and they said was just the remus end can...guess im gonna have to phone insurance cos just insured it with just an aftermarket can grrrr

Will look out for him...seems we have a cupl of things in common.... I drove a bus full of celtic supporters thru to glasgow from forfar a few weeks ago for a european game.

It will probably be a mini bus today. They are not taking many to away games this season. Normally look out for one of these

I bought a GS from Murrays many years ago now. Trouble free and still running in far north.
Now on a TE and live in Montrose.

A mate of mine bought that bike new.He traded it in to drysdales/perth for a ktm enduro bike. It can't have done much since he had it as i think it was sitting about 16-17000 miles when he traded it in.

Again good to know...i think your mate kept up fsh the second owner never but murrays are servicing it for me before i get it and its done 21k so only a few thousand by second owner. Did your mate put the exhaust system on it? Again hope to see you out on the road

Yes the exhaust was on his previous Gs which was an 04 plate.He swapped it onto your bike when he bought that.Most of the miles he put on it were 2 European trips and a trip to Corsica.

Oh and his weekly trip to the track nights at knockhill!................only joking
