Just looking for a bit of feedback ?? :thumb2

Is it available in the UK yet !

Ask Skygod

Badlands is awsome so i should imagine the Overland will be good and it looks very good value for a proshell !

Yes - it's available. Still nearly £400 though! I like the idea of 'you choose your layers underneath', and It's one of the few jackets to have this laminated goretex affair. (unlike say a twat suit where your jacket will absorb water and get heavy, (and then cold) even though it won't penetrate the seperate goretex liner).

Ummmmmmmm .... :nenau

The Twat suit thing is exactly why i bought the Badlands gear and it was cheaper than Rukka, the whole Overland suit at about £700 does not look bad compared to all other proshell stuff and its Klim so it will be better
Footnote
i say better its the best i have tried and i am very impressed with the build quality of their stuff, just taken delivery of a pair of element gloves which are also brilliantly made and just super !

I'll probably skip the trousers (find some enduro pants somewhere) and just get the jacket.... :thumb2

It looks like the Overland is an update of the Traverse, which I've got the jacket and trousers, and its the one combination I'd buy again. And I've bought a few jackets / trousers trying to find the holy grail of waterproof / vented and that works in all seasons apart from winter. Worked well going from a cold wet UK, down to the sun in Croatia and back to the cold wet UK again. So adaptable, and I'll guess I'll change to the Overland if / when I need to.

I've yet to see one in the flesh (might take a day trip to Adventure bike warehouse in Sudbury). I have a heated gillet so I'm guessing that that and a fleece underneath would probably see me through winter too ... :thumb2

I've got a mint Klim Traverse jacket I'm selling, it's an XL and a bit on the big side for me which is why I haven't used it.

I've got one in Large which I wear a lot and love it.

Ummmmmmm, I'm not sure I'm XL and besides, I wouldn't want to get mites :D

I'm 6'00 with a 42'' (but very manly) chest .... :thumb2

You're right....it's not really 'runt of the litter' size :D

Yep, got a black version from the KTM Centre in Hitchin. Very similar to the traverse but with armour and wrist and arm adjustments. A really quality piece of kit. I rode home in it and it pissed down....not a drop got through..very impressed given the size of the vent zips. Boxy in cut gives plenty of rook. However, I found the sizing weird. I am 6ft fairly fit with a 44 inch chest. I found the XL way to big and therefore got the large.....kind of against better judgement which has proven to be the case as I cannot get enough layers under it for the very cold weather...yes I know...twat. The upshot for me is that the L is very slightly too small and so probably great for you at 42.

My only real gripe about the design of the jacket is that the sleeves are very tight at the cuffs so it is a tight fit to get a heated inner jacket and winter gloves tucked into the inside....do able but a bit of a faff.

I am thinking of selling only been worn twice....really pissed off because otherwise a really great bit of very versatile kit. If you are interested in buying once and want to save £100 give me a shout.

Cheers

Ummmm??!

I'm out and about at the moment, but could be very interested in that! I'll pm you when I get in ..!

Me too I reckon I'm 2XL , better than Alpinestars adventure jacket ? £400 is still a lot but the alpinestars makes you sweat like Michael Jackson in the Early learning store ,off the bike . Keen to hear positive feedback :thumby:

Yes you are right about Klim cuffs it's probably so they can sell you the gloves

Sent from this twatting thing

If you want me to send you one Giles to have a look at then let me know.
Gaz

Adventure Bike Warehouse is in Manchester :D

Gaz that's very kind of you :thumb2 (what I will do is buy a mid layer off you in the very near future.. ). Oldnfat has succumbed to the pressure :D

Just out of interest, I was in my local BM dealer today looking at their 'dry' jackets. Very nicely made, typical bm quality cordura, popers, zips etc. This one has a bonded liner too, (no zip out liner like the rallye) but it's 'C.A.R.E.' (whatever the feck that is?) and not goretex. I did a bit of home work on the net on my phone and there seemed to be a mixed response about how waterproof they were (where as I've yet to read a comment that a klim laminated jacket has leaked..). The sales girl offered me a cracking deal (£340 from £420) but ..... Well ... it's got that BMW badge on it as well hasn't it ....

Yep...caved in....off to buy another Overland but the larger size....Giles....yours packaged and ready to go.

Cheers

Excellent :clap

Who'da thought the post would come to this .... :D

Well .....

Oldnfat's jacket arrived today and it's just the ticket :thumb2 The whole thing feels really well made and material itself is thick and has a quality feel about it. I've treated myself to a Rukka 'alpha' soft shell mid layer to use with it.

Thanks Oldnfat .... :thumb2
