For a night out in Inverness, go to 'Hootenannys'. They've got some decent beer, good Thai nosh and normally have lots of live music.:thumb2 The Castle Tavern is good too.

Ullapool, got to the 'Arches' pub for food.

Applecross Inn is excellent, but VERY busy at peak times.

Kyle of Tongue, go to The Craggan Hotel at Melness for good food.

Fort William - the Grog and Gruel on the main drag for beer and good mexican style food upstairs. GC of this parish has a pub just outside Fort Bill...can't remember what it's called though.

If on the A9 North of Inverness, Fish and Chimps at 'Trawlers' in Golspie or 'La Mirage' in Helmsdale are brilliant

If you have a trawl back through The SS you'll find lots of threads on this subject...so much country...so little time.
