A mate is looking to get an auto GS trophy with all the bits. He’s been looking around in the South East but despite all the shops being empty of people and full of stock, there aren’t any deals around.

Anyone know of a dealer who actually wants to put in some effort to get a sale?

Is your mate approaching the dealers with an I'm ready to buy attitude so lets do a deal

I would not particularly wait till the end of the month.
If the dealer has made his quota, you have wasted a month.

It will be February before you know it.
Then the new reg.

Would think the coming week would be the time to get a deposit paid.

Deals have got to be better on stock bikes and to be fair, most stock bikes will be well specced. Order deals will be less attractive as the new reg is looming.

The best time to get a deal is near the end of the quarter. Probably end March - if they have not achieved the allocation to get the bonus.

Go at the end of the month and know what you want
100%
Awaiting delivery of a white GS with ESA, headlight pro. Got a big discount that put the bike in used bike price territory.
Knew spec I wanted, told sales I wanted nearly new..due to price, they came back with a cracking deal.
Only remit was register in December, to hit their end of month sales figures..

That was also their end of quarter and end of year

The current BMW sales quarter goes to end of March, so in my experience they are less inclined to do a stonking deal as they know folk will be hunting down bikes for the new plate for that month. Having said that if he is intent on absolutely the best price this side of summer, then find a dealer who still needs to reach target March target which will be higher than for other sales periods. The best quarter for a great deal is Sept to Dec, as late as possible, they have year end targets and "back end" bonus which they can share with the customer if so inclined to reach a deal.

Nin its a fair way from you , but has your mate contacted Chester Motorradd? Reason I ask is mid last year I popped in and the guy who valets and delivers the bikes was saying they were smashing it with national sales. They were undercutting dealers all over the UK and Im sure at one point they were No 1 in the UK.

I was in over Xmas and their showroom is rammed with new / ex BMW staff bikes/ pre owned stock. Might be worth a call and costs nowt. They were open Monday to Sat last time I visited.

If you have to deal with Chester go in door turn left and deal with the girl on the left by the window, she’s ex Woods of Abergele and fair. Two blokes at top of showroom with the side by side desks are a pair of pompous
p - - ck - who think customers can be looked down their noses at! Service manager round the corner (Phil “Pip” Shearing) is a decent guy.
