As title really, has anyone had a good deal other than the 3.9% apr finance thing? I had a cheeky look at a gsa at the weekend. My local stealer sent a quote for a new gsa tb,the bike at full rrp and not a lot in px for my bike, first attempt on his part to be fair! anyone managed to get luggage thrown in or money off? If your worried about breaking a confidence with your dealer please feel free to pm me.Many thanks in anticipation.

Some will always get better deals than others, ive brought 7 new BMW bikes in 8 years so have built up great relationships with 2 local dealers, i always get a really good deal and go for the best deal between the two, i never pay more than i think is fair and just brought a new TB GSA with my part ex it worked out about £1,000 to £1,500 off the RRP.

They know that with servicing and new bikes they will get their money back, hence why a new guy walking in of the street wanting a brand new model is unlikely to get much of a discount.

Thanks for sharing, 7 bikes in 8 years!?. Wouldn't it be more cost effective to keep the bikes for a slightly longer term, I'm sure this would outweigh the perceived benefit from the 'relationship & discount'?

Williams Manchester

I've just had stunning deal on a new Triple black GSA.... 3 other dealers couldn't or wouldn't get near it ..!!

Well worth a call :thumb2

Don't get too excited, utter gash when I phoned them, I think I got some yooof in sales, telling me the new bikes with a grand off I'd seen on eBay were euro 3 and that's why they were cheap and why would I want euro 3 it would affect resale. Those on eBay were in Chester by the way.

Biggest laugh was Park Lane BMW, £9000 pounds px for a 2016 S1000XR Sport SE, £15000 list new, basically a solid £2 grand under 3 other dealers px price.

Ring round for best price.

Park Lane belongs to the manufacturer and is there to sell big cars and 4x4s to people who walk in and say "which bit of fully loaded do you not understand" without asking the price and to knock out ex-staff bikes a bit cheaper than many other dealers. I did once get a decent part ex but only because they had a direct buyer. Most of the time they'll be at least 10-15% off anyone else.

The deal that anyone else gets is irrelevant, as it'll depend on the individual circumstances.

Ring or visit 3 dealers, tell them what you want, and see who does the best deal.

I tend to find that if you get lots of goodies thrown in either its a bike that doesn't sell well (not a GS) or you are going to get a poor trade in price. Or you get a good trade in with nothing thrown in.

I recently got a trade in price on a bike (non BMW bike non BMW dealer) 2 week later they were offering £650 of add ons free, strangely though my bike had lost £750 on its trade in value over those 2 weeks

At least my BMW dealer was straight he told me if I wanted panniers and box then I had 2 options buy them for £1000 or you can have them free but get £1000 of your trade in.

At the end off the day work the best deal out you can and if you are still not happy go somewhere else.

You are the person with the money at the end of the day

I reckon that about mid November the dealers will want to shift stock ready for the new year. keep going in and then walking out even if that's difficult, eventually one visit will bear fruit. I have been known to just go in and drink the coffee and just tease them by looking repeatedly at a particular bike. :D

What Nikonnigel said, I've done exactly the same a number of times. Just plan the timing of your visits. As someone commented there's new models coming out and stock has to be shifted. Good luck in your endeavours.
