Any engine dfference r100gs 1986-1990<> r100gs 1991-1996?

Hello
Does anyone know if there is any diffrence between the engine parts or engine construction of the 1986-1990 r100gs motorbike-engine and the 1991-1996 r100gs motorbike-engine?
(How to recongnize this, if there should be indeed some difference between the engines of those motorbikes?)

About the only change that I'm aware of is the introduction of the PAS. IIRC it was introduced as standard on other than US-Spec bikes at some point towards the end of the production.

Main difference is the quality of metal used in the last crankcases.
fecking Monkey metal studs pull out for a pastime
Otherwise closed circuit breathing [white tubes down the inlet tracts ] or exhaust rebreathing on Merican ones, then ALL of the last ones
lighter flywheel was 1982 I think..
I've fitted a 1986 r100 bottom half engine into a '93 100GS cos it's better made from proper materials...
