Myself, Jez and HRH Oonyack are invading Manchester on Tuesday for a Rammstein gig at the MEN. Can anyone recommend a good Indian for a ruby before the gig within easy distance of the arena?

TIA :beerjug:

About a mile away, but their Bradford and Leeds restaurants are about as good as it gets in the curry stakes. Had several meals in the Bradford one so reckon you won't regret it. :thumb2 Akbars

About 10 mins. walk from the arena. It doesn't look like a 'normal' curry house but it's good
They do a 'taster meal' - every thing on the menu for about £15:drool
Plus you walk past some decent boozers on Deansgate

you won't go home hungry:D

Ye can go yirsel a fuckin dinnae like Indian food that much

Mmmm.. I've been to the Shimlapinks in Birmingham also an excellent restaurant :thumb2

Is that one of those Jewish bands?

You should be going for a "Gefilte fish and Matzo Cracker" meal................ :rob

(A curry could give you the shabbats :blast)

Al :)

I've been to both those mentioned above (Shimla's and Akbar's) as well as a good few in Rusholme. I would recommend Lal Qila, but they recently moved to Deansgate and I've not visited yet - the branch in Rusholme was always great - is also a bit of a long walk from the MEN.

When I was in the training dept at work I had to take groups of engineers from all over out for dinner, and the best Indian bar none (IMHO) I found in Manchester was East Z East - there are 2 in the city centre. You'd want the riverside one on Blackfriars Street:

Ignore the poncy decor - Quality of food and service has always been brilliant when I've been in. Always busy and usually a good percentage of indian/pakistani diners, which is a good endorsement for me :thumb2

I'm sure there'll be a McD's close by for the Philistine :D

Best argentinian steak = Gaucho Grill (2 mins walk from MEN)
Indian food = Akbars (7/8 mins walk from MEN)
