I have used my motorcycle only 5 times this year, due to house move/job constraints etc .. Each time I bring it out there is an issue which needs to be rectified through the use of the Warranty. For example, the front shaft drive gaiter split, condensation build up inside the display, left hand switch gear failed and needed to be replaced (I could not use my indicators or lights), intermittent rough spitting whilst idle (this is still happening), random cutting out of the engine (this is still happening and I feel quite dangerous), brake reservoir leaking and the latest problem is that the headlight unit is misting badly.

I do not normally complain about a product, however considering this bike is the most expensive I have ever purchased and its only done 2000 miles, I have absolutely no faith at all in my bike and have not yet used it for a long trip as I dare not and have no trust with it.

What do you guys suggest ? Im on the brink of getting rid, dont really want to loosing cash etc ..

Thanks

Sorry to hear that you have had such problems with your bike. Like the other guys said it may be best to get it fixed and move it on. My bike is an April 13 plate. I bought it new and have done nearly 14k miles without any major issues.

Might lack soul but at least the bugger will be reliable

Why would you want a Yamaha , its got as much soul as a hooker........The Bms like your wife .. fookin annoying but wonderful

Common theme of condensation here.

Do you park it in a sauna?

Vehicles never cope well with being stood unused.

I had a dodgy 13 with 8-9 recalls and warranty fixes. Finally the clutch nut came off and lunched the gearbox and engine. All under warranty. Never own one of these bikes out of warranty unless you get it real cheap, lol. Still, after my negative experiences I ordered and took delivery of a 15 and I love it. Suits my daily 40 klm commute, shopping trips and long rides on the weekend.

I bought the extra year warranty so it now has 3 years of factory warranty. I feel comfortable with that. My new S1000XR turns up in July, I will have to see how I feel about the GS at that time, probably won't have both.

My advise to you is to sell the 13 pronto and replace it with whatever floats your boat.
