Any Irish guys on biker.ie ?

Are they?

Admin and Gixxer are they co-habiting, you know in a relationship of some sort or other, or are they just two sides of a multiple personality. And where do they find the time - social welfare?

I feel like registering just to see how quickly I can get banned

Sweep stake anyone???

I posted up something not a million miles away from that. Post deleted and ban within about 30 seconds of hitting "submit post"!

any one log on to biker lately

I pop in there for a look every now and then. Tend not to post much as, if your opinion/advice doesn't agree with the powers that be, you're banned either temporarily or permanently. Admin and the likes are childish beyond belief and some of the 'personalities' on there are keyboard warriors at their best. That said, there are some sound peeps there too. Used to be on Irish Biker Forum which was way better (none of the politics and childishness) but it's been offline for a while now.

I mostly use Biker.ie to organise an annual Toy Run into Tallaght Hospital in December, though FB was probably better at getting the word out last time around.

Have to say, this forum is top notch, both in terms of the content and the members. :)

Strange place alright.

Great for selling gear and I have been helped out on a couple of occasions.

My impression of biker.ie is that there are more decent guys on it than arseholes, but the few arseholes that are there - either deliberately or because they're not normal/decent/average/reasonable - are the ones who get to dictate & control everything.

In fairness, I imagine in the real world, even the guys who are arseholes on the forum would actually be the first to help you out if you were in trouble. It's like they're arseholes because they're anonymous, like the trolls my son deals with when he's gaming online.

If the mods could get over the fact that the forum has progressed and advanced beyond being the sawdust-on-the-floor hang-out that they wanted it to be, and is now frequented by a much broader cross-section of bikerdom, then it might be more pleasant.

Been banned a couple of times. Nonsense. There's one particular putz of a mod on there that I've often thought of as the simple nephew of the site owner, who's been guilted by family into keeping him off the streets.

Is there an analogy or parallel with UKGSer? It was set up pre-LWR and subsequently the "real" GS enthusiasts have had to deal with now being outnumbered by the Johnny-come-lately lettin-on GSers on their 1200s... ;)

Cheeky hooer!!

Often called "bicker.ie" on message boards of old and IBF (which despite lots of prodding on faecbook remains 'on ice', promising to resurface SOMEtime in the future. This does not look likely :( ).
At this stage there is enough interest in an alternative to biker.ie and enough web traffic for another site to replace IBF. :nenau

.. IF someone had the will to do it. :augie
also unlikely. :(

I haven't been on in ages. I might just go back and see how long it takes to be banned. :ronno

Any suggestions to speed up the process?
