Hi all,

considering buying a second hand zumo 550, as a few have been advertised recently. Just wondering if there are any issues with updating maps. ISTR that the map upgrade that you can buy is specific to a person, so if you buy secondhand then you have to buy a new set of maps. Is this the case? Are the maps expensive?

Many thanks.

The Zumo will obviously come with the maps that are already on it - as long as they are reasonably up to date(last few years) this is no big deal - after all how much do roads change from one year ro the next?

If you want to you can buy 'lifetime' updates for about £80 or thereabouts. Amazon worth a look.

no issues at all, also doesnt matter how old the mapping on the unit is as there are many websites where you can download the latest mapping for free.
