Any LED Headlight failures/cracked/scratched etc yet ?

That is lexan cover built into all of the led headlamp units, viewed after surrounding frame removed .
 
Okay. And in which case you'd have thought it was easy enough for BMW to supply a replacement. Oh! I forgot! They don't do that sort of thing do they!!:blast

BMW won't, but there's bound to be companies out there that could laser cut some Lexan.

I'll take the risk.

Define necessary - I am not going to bother for road riding in the same way I haven't bothered with radiator guards, it all comes down to how much you worry about this stuff, the chance of it being seriously damaged is very small so I won't lose any sleep over it. How many people put guards on their car headlights???????
 
So... The protector needs protection:ague (now I'm being cruel )
