Any major differences between a 2022 BMW S100XR and a 2025 BMW S1000XR?

Hi, I was looking at getting a deal on a new 2025 BMW S1000XR with the M-Sport pack (very pricey) and then I've seen a low miles 2022 BMW S1000XR for a hell of a lot less money with the same pack.

Is there any differences between the two, only thing I see is the seat differences?

There's some very slight differences and supposedly 5 HP more I think, but I didn't feel any difference whatsoever.

There's a quite a significant difference between Gen 1 and Gen 2 however. (2015 - 2019) (2019/20 - 24)

I put 27k in 2 years on a 22 plate xr,great bike and no problems.
I've now got the slightly updated 24 plate, slightly more powerful slightly more torque and different styling but tbh very little in real world riding.
My 24 plate is just over 6 months old and 7.8k in and no problems at all.
If money is an issue go for the earlier bike,if you have the dosh get the later slightly updated one.
All imo obviously
Whichever one you get the standard seat is torture, I have a wunderlich one and it's worth it's weight in gold.

I fitted a Wunderlich seat to my 2020 Gen 2 XR and it was worse than the OE low seat. I changed it for a BMW comfort seat and that was a big improvement, although still not as comfy as the low seat on my GS.

Re. saddles. My 2016 bike, that I bought in 2018 had the BMW HP seat fitted. That looked nice and was comfortable on long trips. Little experience of a standard seat except on a loan bike at service time.

If you are buying a used bike then a non-standard seat might be a useful upgrade.

Regarding the seats, just look at the accessories list if its got a "Comfort Seat" listed the original will be a joke, basically a surfboard with fixings. So all you need to do is give BMW a further £500 and bob's your uncle.

Seat on my 2025 XR isnt Fantastic to be honest, but the rest of the bike makes up for it LOL no seriously if I was going to change anything other than Farkles it would be the seat, Ive ordered a cool cover see if that makes and difference
It certainly did on the Tigersport 800 so heres hoping

I have fitted the comfort seat to my M1000xr , not ridden with it yet , but as you ,I will see how it goes and then cool cover if needed as always used them on bikes over the years.

Yep great bikes I did 42k in just over 2 years on a 24 mdl and 25 mdl, touring, trackdays etc,I had loads of bling which I sold a couple of months ago,m sport footrests and levers are great, just wanted a change hence I now have a multistrada v4 pikes peak.

Need to have a big one for work stuff but I must admit it does look a bit massive in that pic !!

The bmw big box is rounded and I used it for trips and the little one for every day.
Enjoyed my time with 2 xr1000 one 22 and one 24 going 42k combined but a ducati multistrada pikes peak turned my head after 25yrs of bmw bikes.

Has it had its major service, it is very expensive if it hasn't.
