I go a GS LC and thinking to add extra outlets for 12V and 5V/2.4a USB outlets. The DIN/Hella outlet by the clocks is fine for letting me charge things on the go but as I found on my last trip to EU that cables kept getting tangled (from the outlet to the tank bag) and when turning handlebars about and in turn unplugging the plug. Annoying as it is in the first place it even more so anoying when you go to replace a battery in your action camera and it hasn't charged fully, because I failed to spot that it got unplugged. So I am thinking to add these extra outlets somewhere on the bodywork that is around the tank area.

Now. In order not to upset this canbus system (which I do not understand what it is in the first place :blast) I am thinking to run my power directly from the battery terminals via inline fuse to the appropriate location of the power outlets. Would that be a correct way to do it? I am thinking to use these power outlets and this inline fuse holder (would need to know what amp fuse to use to in order not to overload the system). I would also need to know, what gauge wire would be recommended for this operation?

Kind regards and many thanks in advance for your help.

No issue with running this from the battery... best way to set it up IMHO. A 5amp fuse will do the job and I have used 8guage on mine. :beerjug:
