Have to get a tree removed and the stump ground out. The debris removed.
Anyone used any Dublin based forms they can recommend?

Thanks in advance. :thumb2

Marc, what type/size of tree is it ? To help keep your cost down I'd be interested in buying the wood from you. Let me know. :thumb2

Thanks for the replies folks.
All good, apart from one which was Norfolkin help! :P :D
I'll look into the suggestions and reply ;) .

Luke,
it's horse chestnut - a conker tree :D the cuttings of which just sort of turn soft and powdery - i wouldn't recommend it / but thanks for the offer :thumb2
I'd be doing most of the pollarding myself and leave the lower trunk removal and stump grinding to the perfessionals - but someones worried that if i fell out of my tree, my bone condition might lead to "comperlickations". :augie :D

If that wood is left to dry for 12 months it will be fine for a stove. How big is it ? I've a chain saw. . . . . what could possibly go wrong ? :augie

Right folks,
sorry for the big pause / paws

Got it sorted.
Ollie took a while to get back with a quote. The company we used 20 odd years ago ("four seasons") never even came out to quote.
Thanks Younger06 :beerjug: - but i'd not seen your post by the time i was getting quotes.

So (long story short) we got a chap called Ian in. (https://www.southdublintreeservices.ie/).

Very good. :thumb2
Quick to call out and quote. Honest, blunt and professional. Did exactly what he said he would, when he said he'd do it.
Best price too.
I would recommend him.
All in all a happy experience. :)

Thank youz all for the help. :thumb2

What happened to the wood ? Taken away ?

Yes Luke. I know you wanted it, but honestly it was crap, and it also had a load of wire growing through it! :eek
This made cutting the feckin tree down 'interesting' to say the least. :blast
Even as he was cutting it - the smell was unpleasant. You would not want it.

Horse chestnut tree; not nice wood.

... anyhow - Frodi sorted you, didn't he? :nenau
