We are heading down from York, probably via Goole Crowle etc to New York, in Lincs, the weekend after next.

On tourances on GS/Tiger/Caponord/Cag-Nav, so looking for something off tarmac, to break up the tarmac stuff, but not mega tough ruts slippy roots, or big bogs. (Tho I was stuck in these in langdale forest on Sunday on my orange bike:blast).

We are very flexible on route, so any suggestions?

Cheers dudes:thumb2

Not a lot around the scunthorpe/crowle area, not legal anyway !

Shame:( The OS map shows plenty "tracks" just east of crowle/ealand, but it is hard to know if they are poor condition roads (which would be OK), legal trails (perfect) or neither. Trailwise only shows one of them as a legal trail, but no status at all on the others.

Bits of the Viking way may do us, but again I don't know what is GS friendly or other wise.

A little late but may be of use for later.

I've tried one or two roads round that area, but they are mostly farm tracks or end in fields locked gates or drains. The area is flat and empty, one of the OS map squares is completely blank.
You would miss you of the best roads around by using them. The road from Goole to Crowle is fantastic on a Big GS, you can get a good view round a lot of twists. Its a really good technical road ( the f!lth used to use it for training runs )
There are some little sections of track further to the east check out the track from to including a suspension bridge to rival the Humber Bridge.
Another couple of Ancholme River further south but I've not tried them on a 1200 only a 650 a few years ago including Hiblestow Bridge.
Quite a few tracks around Humberside Airport Grasby area.
Then the run down to Horncastle from Brigg is fantastic, best taken at a steady pace so that you can embaress the pocket rockets ( I love to catch and take them on some of the corners )
Horncastle to Conningsby ok in parts but road only,a few smaller roads /tracks.
Then the chance to full throttle down the straight to New York ( so good I don't know why they named it once )

Sorry missed out, the suspension bridge is between Winterton and Torksey off the roman road.
