A few of us are planning a long week-end in May - riding up from the Borders and looping around the top of the country. Friday night we had thought to stop around Lairg or Bonar Bridge, and then up to Tongue, Durness around to Lochinver and then maybe Ullapool area for the Saturday night (home on Sunday).
So - any suggestions please for inexpensive B & Bs or bunkhouse type accommodation? There will be between 5 and 8 of us - proximity (walking distance) to a bar is essential, and food would be nice.

We've decided against camping as we are all either too old, too lazy or sick of getting wet.

Cheers

Thanks for this - checked out their web sites - look ideal.
Cheers.

Stayed at the Ullapool youth hostel last summer. £17 a night I think. Eight to a room if that's your thing. Not mine. I couldn't sleep for all my inebriated mates snoring........:)

The issue of snoring seems to be fairly subjective - my wife/anyone in next room/anyone living next door/anyone in my street all seem to have problems with sleeping at night due to this (apparent) slight disturbance - can't say it's ever bothered me though.

Booking accom. this week once we have a final numbers tally - cheers for advice/recommendations.
