I'm just about to go for fibre broadband as my area has just been enabled.

Any suggestions for a router?

And no, I'm not going to use BT or a fecking homehub.

I'm using a Meraki MR12 as my wireless AP which is just perfect, but what should I use as a router?

I had a Linksys WAG320N for my ADSL, and could use ethernet port 1 as a WAN port, but it will only do 25mbps thoughput, where my fibre is forecast at 50.

Any suggestions?

We use an ASUS RT-N56U router in our office
dual band very fast very reliable and very long range !
wasnt cheap as routers go when we bought it last year but having said that its probably obsolete now and can be bought for pennies

Good point.

Probably very little other than having a minimum of 4 usable ethernet ports.

Really depends on what other functions you want it to have?

Currently using a Draytek Vigor2850n, but I'm sure someone will come along with a better suggestion.

You could do worse than have a browse at these guys for models/spec's although prices aren't that cheaphttp://www.broadbandbuyer.co.uk/

+1 for the 2850n. Have only used Draytek kit for years now. Ultra reliable and very flexible.

Well a Draytek of some description will more than suffice.
They don't always a have the newest/fastest spec but have a lot of extra funtionality that small business' use, and are pretty standard kit for small IT networks/IP CCTV (port forwarding) & phone systems with VPN tunneling etc etc.

A lot in the phone & IT trade supply/support them and the Firmware/OS is well known to many engineers

Generally they are reliable, although we have had a couple of duffers out of the box in 8-10 years (kept dropping the ADSL connection at the time), but we currently have 2 running 2 separate systems on one site, an a 3rd at home all quite happy.
