Just had a go on one and thought it was great fun :D
might get one as a run around just to save the knobblies on the XChallenge,
so i need some advice on what's the best model MK1/2/3 and what to
look when buying 2nd hand..:beerjug:

I tried one too .. they are great but £6k is just too much money. Even second hand .. you could get a decent bike for similar money.

Hi Mk 2 the one to go for at the mo.Mk 3 no discounts and not yet proven .I have had 3 a mk 1 and 2 mk2's. The Mk 2 is EFI twin disc up front and with immobiliser and parking brake. Good for 90mph easy 110 miles to reserve good in the wet and sporty handling .They are incredibly useful and the best handling scooter out there. The Mk3 is a redo different frame wheels bodywork more sporty looking but looks fragile ,the one at the NEC looked shagged out after a week of people sitting on it and very scuffed .They were in short supply last year and could not be got for love or money as the Italian Post office bought up the lot.Now easier to get but seem to hold their value . I sold my mint 10000 mile 54 plate one for just under £4000 to buy a new 07 Mk 2 for £5500 So not bad eh?Use ACF50 through winter and no corrosion if not usual disc/fastening corrosion and centre stand looks rusty if not cleaned. I love em very popular in france Spain and most of all Italy, where you see guys in sharp suits tearing down the streets. We dont seem to get the idea here but they are one of the best bikes around to those who have owned one!! :thumb

My dad has one, a Mk 2 I think.

He recons it's a good bike with the exception of the MPG 'your 650 will do much better I gather' and he says the seat is not good for long trips.

He seems to think it's quite fast. Says it rattles along :thumb2

Not interested in road bikes at the moment :)

Bought it 2nd hand from a chap near Stoke On Trent
only done 800 miles for £3995 :P

Is that a MK 2 then ?

Where did you find it ? ebay ?

I remember a group of us riding down into Spain in about 2006.

We were doing a steady 90-100 mph and one came past us with the owner wearing shorts/flip flops and a piss pot lid.

We caught up with him and rode along side for about 5 miles doing an indicated 115.

Bloody mad !!

Would love one myself as a run around.

I used to have a Gilera Runner SP180 2 stroke that would do 90 but the small wheels made the handling interesting

Its a MK3 different alloy frame 15 inch front wheel revised bodywork and exaust but otherwise pretty similar. They do get a bit twitchy at 100mph but handling is fantastic .Theres a race series in France boy do they go:eek:

If you are passed by one in Andorra don't even think about chasing it.
Garry Mccoy is a mate of mine and uses it for knocking about on.

Had a Mk1 (carbs) and loved it. Still the best handling big scoot about, thought about getting another but they are like hen's teeth and second hand values are high. Very popular on the continent where they love to trick them up.......
