Ok ive got
A Nav 6 updated today
A new Iphone 11 Pro max all up to date on IOS 14.4 with the BMW Motorrad Connedted App on it
A Senna 30K software version 3.1.1
A New R1250GS Rallye TE

I have watched some youtube videos including the 58 minute one by wheelspin productions and followed that to the letter clearing all bluetooth connections from the Nav, TFT, Senna ,and Iphone

I then connected the headset to the TFT then connected it to the Nav 6, then connected the phone to the TFT then the nav turning off the phone contacts and media on the Nav,

the phone side of it works fine but when I go onto media there is no music, if you go onto a section ie now playing or playlists etc the little wheel spins round then comes up "NO ENTRIES FOUND ? it did come up with UPDATING once but then the same NO ENTRIES FOUND message

if I press the play on the phone mysic comes out of the headset but theres nothing on the screen and the jog wheel does nothing I cand track forward or backwards its as if the music is being bluetoothed from the phone but its not

Also the app says disconnected and I cant get that to connect, im not even sure if the app needs to be connected to play musiv via the TFT

someone please help im getting a bit ansty with it now LOL

Thanks
Rob

It seems like you done everything right. But if the music plays from the phone to the headset without going through the TFT it seems like you got the phone paired to headset.

I had similar to this, the info showed but the music wouldn’t play. I cleared it and started again. It seems important to pair the Sena to the Nav using the 2nd (or 1st) mobile pairing rather than the GPS option. Apparently the GPS option uses some different protocol or data transfer or something.

My setup is almost the same as yours. Only difference is the Sena I have is 50r.

I know it's a new bike, but might be worth checking the software version - do a check.

I think the latest ends in 041

Mine constantly had errors until it was updated.

The best YouTube video I saw was by Nick Hodge. Complicated pairing sequence but he takes the time to explain the "why" as well as the "what". He also quotes the last TFT software revision number which was due November 2020

Some body put this on here a few weeks back - it works a treat.

Not with mine.

This was the issue - connecting the phone through the Nav.

Why connect the phone to the Nav?

Got to say its not an easy thing to do but its all sorted now, and works as it should. ive got all my playlists on the screen and am still able to play the music from the nav and the dab radio via my phone,
happy camper LOL

Why connect the phone to the Nav?

Phone to TFT: Phonecalls, music streaming.
Phone to GPS:Garmin Smartlink offers traffic information such as congested roads, accidents that cause the need for rerouting and warnings about work on the road.
The clue is to choose a connection type with GPS that will not answer phone calls, as this is better handled by the TFT.

I thank you

I did all that and it just kept disconnecting from the app and then no music, to be honest it was a nightmare, took it to cannons for a software update and still exactly the same, came home and connected my sons Samsung s10 and it all worked fine, it connects every time without issue, phoned BMW they said “yes we have had this with iPhones’
I went straight out and bought an S10 and all good I now only use the S10 on the bike and simply re direct all calls from the iPhone to the S10, also the S10 is so much easier to put music on
That’s what I did

I'm in the same boat, have a cardo packtalk slim, a brand new GS, a nav iV, and a brand new 2020 iphone SE with the latest s/w.

I've tried the main ways described in these links, pairing the cardo to the tft, then the nav, then the phone to the tft, and then the phone to the nav, tried switching on or off the media on the nav, and still nothing comes through on the tft, whereas last week when I tried on the hoof I got the track listings on the tft but no sound.

Damn frustrating. Been at all day. Seen's Nick's vid as well, but he does it differently. I'll try, but I fear there's going to be tears.

(I have the nov s.w update i.e. the one Nick used).

That’s what I was getting it’s a joke
Try borrowing another phone ie Samsung and give that a try as I’ve got all the same hardware all but the headset I’ve got a Sena 30k
Frustrating I know but well worth a go I’m sure it’s an apple thing !!

No chance of that! And after two months of umming and arh-ing I decided this week to upgrade from my iphone 5, mostly to take benefit of the tech and the connected app. It is a joke that in 2021 the lot of them can't sort this shit out.

Did you scroll to left or right when you were on the screen showing no playlists?

This , or something similar happened when I followed the same set up as you via YouTube

If you have a fresh install, that sequence does work. I’ve done it twice on my bike, the second after a software up and on a mates 1250.

Didnt work on mine and even the tecky at Cannons after a 3 hour software update could not make it work
connected to the Samsung and it all works fine

Even this morning I had to check and yes the bike connects to everything, music plays and the app stays connected, I entered an old address and the screen was instantly giving me directions on how to get there which is a touch !!

It is very stupid that some Iphones work and some dont I dont get it to be honest but as long as the S10 connects to everything and works im happy, I know its a bit of a faf having one phone to use on the bike and one for other useage but it all works now and hopefully will continue to !!

Don't you ever wonder why it got so complex?

I don't think I really would need this level of complexity, just to ride a motorcycle

I do Johnny and you really dont need it all, Ive been playing music through the nav or phone for years and been fairly happy with it, BUT if ive paid what I consider a bloody lot of money for a bike with all the tech on it I really want it to work,

If BMW Said to me that the bike wont work with my model of phone id like the choice of either buying another phone or not buying the bike, not to be told Ive no idea !! I think thats bad on a bike that cost over £20k or infact any bike at any cost !!

but you are right, they have become too complexed and youve almost got a pre flight procedure just to pop out for an hour lol

Well, after a few hours of trying yesterday but having for the very first time forgot to leave the optimate on overnight, I have a dead battery. Class, BMW.

Does having a tracker now mean that we have to carry an optimate when we tour?

Not seen this reply before.

On the nav 6 how do you choose a connection type that won't answer calls?

TIA
