Just about to push "buy" on the genuine BMW £130 tank bag for the X Country. Any thoughts before I buy it, probably tomorrow?

I've seen the Touratech one which is a bit more and also recommends paint protection film to stop damage to the faux tank which puts me off, can't see any real advantage over the genuine one.

Thanks Nobo. Looking into it now. Do you have an photos of it mounted on your bike? Does it mark/scratch the tank at all?

Thanks - Dan

I have the TT one and it fits ace

To protect the paint, I just put some of that rubber mat stuff down on the tank

The underside is already soft stuff, I just make sure i'm doubly protected

Any advantage of the TT over the BMW one? Both similar price, BMW about £20 cheaper. Do you too have any pics with it on the bike?

Hallo modman,
yes I also use a clear protectionfilm. I have pictures, but sorry there is no posibility for me to attach.
If I had an emailaddress I could submit.
Cheers Nobu

Larger mapcase, very important to me and not as bulbous as the BMW one

The problem with most of the ones listed is they can't used a backpack when removed from the bike, making them awkward to carry.

Modman, if you are still looking for a tankbag for a XC, I have a brand new TT one. PM of interested. I use a wolfman as I do not need the larger volume

Zorro - I'd just planned to go past the TT shop in Germany next week to buy this one - http://shop.touratech.co.uk/tank-bag-g650x-country.html I can't PM you as not a subscriber, but if you want to mail me then djsayles at hotmail dot com would be great.

The TT one looks good for a couple of reasons, one being that it's specific to the bike and as someone above mentioned, they don't all convert to rucksacks, according to the TT blurb in the link above, the TT one does have rucksack straps which is nice.
