You could not build this bike for less and in my opinion it looks well thought out. If it's your thing I'd give it serious consideration. If anyone says it's too expensive the they've never built a bike before. Having said that you could buy a well conserved standard R65 for a fraction of the price but it depends on what you're after.

I think it has been very nicely done but why a 65? That effort and expense into an R100 I can understand.
Most of the non standard Bikes i've seen lately do nothing for me - but this IS lovely. 
That R65 looks very light and nimble - it'd be fun once you got to know it.
But i've never heard of a reliable way to actually get those buggers to go fast!
I thought that - even after 2 R65's. But then i got an 800 (R80/7 - even with its heavy flywheel) and really changed my mind!And here was me just starting to believe that size really didn't matter!
That R65 looks very light and nimble - it'd be fun once you got to know it.

Well I've started with a very similar bike, an R80 ST, but Richie Moore is building a 980cc track motor for it at the moment. That and the loss of about 25kgs should liven it up

Sure is fully priced by Oz standards, and little mention of much mechanical work. And some may question the need for frame strengthening on a street 650.
But it all comes together nicely, and if the work was done professionally it probably owes the owner that amount.
Dont worry about it being a 650 - the difference on the road, if any, between it and a 1000 is that the 650 will be in a lower gear or revving a bit faster,but it will still be there.
But as the price is 50% more than the total I paid for my four Beemers it doesn't look like value to me.

I agree with Beemerboff - I absolutely cannot see the value in this. I had to convert the price into Euro to make sense
to me (€12,500). Irrespective of what it cost to build, you don't always get your money back. It could be argued if there
were serious engine modifications/enhancements but there is no mention of this and it also has the stock Bings so the
motor is probably in standard form.

It looks cool, but for that money you could buy a new gsxr600 and a new dr-z250 and have some money left for petrol. I know that's not a like for like comparison, but it would make me think...
I remember following the build of this a while back. I know it belongs to instagram user 'violetpop' http://instagram.com/violetpop/ and im sure there was a thread over on ADV but I cant find it.
