Question. BMW Zumo mounted to R1200RT sits nice and low, good without tank bag. However, need to raise the unit to lift above the BMW Tank Bag line of vision. Required are replacement handle bar brackets giving about 11/2"" lift above standard. Would be nice in ally finish. Any body able to do this? PM me or tel 01252 549464.

and.... anybody fitted a sun shade for same unit to enable visibility in bright sun?

I have just done exactly the same mod to my RT using 2 strips of galvanised steel exhaust mounting brackets scrounged from Kwikfit. Drill 4 holes - job done - you will need lock washers and locktite as the nut work loose. They did have some pre drilled strip but the holes were too large. Tank bag is cleared easily and the distance and angle to view can be altered - no need for sun shade.

Soooo...

So what you did was insert two strips each side as extenders? Did you retain the handlebar mounts and attach strips to these?

Does it 'look' neat? Any picture?

Correct - it is almost invisible as the natural curve of the bars tends to hide the strips. No pics sorry
