Any tips for Brittany Ferries Plymouth to Santander?

If you wish to eat in the proper restaurant then get in the queue asap to get a decent time!
You can book this in advance via email saving the queuing and potentially no tables left by the time you get to the front of the queue.

Just off the Pont Aven this afternoon in Santander. Excellent experience.
My tips….. We were in the first row of cars onto the ship, so my buddy headed straight to book a table at the restaurant.
Boarded at just after 4pm, they weren’t starting to take restaurant bookings until 5.30. We joined the queue at 5.10pm and it took half an hour to get a booking.

The meal was worth every penny at 120 Euro including wine.

But my tip is, get the bill and pay just outside at the reservation desk. The young lady who served us tried to take payment twice at the table but struggled with Bluetooth connectivity. She then sent me outside to pay.
This morning when I got WiFi I find out I’ve been charged 120 Euro three times on my Revolut card.
Showed the app and receipt to guest services who tell me it’s probably been pre authorised and won’t be claimed.
That’s not my experience of Revolut… prepaid cards don’t usually pre authorise payments.

I’m sure it will be sorted, but is gonna take time.

Last tip… first night heading south we were looking at Burgos. So was everyone else we spoke to.

Changed plan and went a little below that to a quaint town called Covarrubias. Great call.

But make sure and stay off the main road. N623 is an excellent road.

Stupid question, but when you book a crossing is the cabin included in the price. If not do you just sleep in an empty chair?

Cabin not included. You can choose from a range of cabins or a reclining chair in one of the lounges if you like poverty travel 😂

There might be one cabin left on the way back. Can you only call to book a cabin, not online? 🫨

I would always phone to make an amendment as you can haggle over cost. They might also know that someone has changed a booking and released a cabin in both directions.

oh, and even if you do not prebook a cabin, go straight to reception on the ferry when you board. There will always be a no show and they will happily sell you any unoccupied cabin.

We tried to prebook but BF say non!
It’s only for their elite club members not the hook poloi

You should add, ‘Wait for them to open the doors’…. before start riding.

If I had anything to add, it would be the same as getting onto the Chunnel train or indeed anywhere ‘unusual’:

1. If you are with a lot of other bikes, give them some space. There is no guarantee any of them will know any more about what they are doing than you do. Don’t get mixed up in their faffing about. The ferry will not go without you, so miss out on the stampede.

2. It can be quite noisy in the hold and you’ll probably have your helmet on, with some deckhand maybe shouting unintelligible gibberish. Take your time, it’s not a race.

3. There will be some abject cnut who thinks it is a great laugh to bounce their bike off its rev limiter, to let the world hear the awesomeness of their £1000 open exhaust. If you are right behind them, you’ll be gassed and deafened. Do not be the abject cnut that creates the noise.

PS You’ll be fine. Have a great holiday.
I always enjoy your responses ya sarky b'stard...🤣

Does anyone know what’s open on board on this late sailing? I’m on Friday’s 11.59pm sailing Portsmouth-Santander.
Brittany Ferries provide little clue!
