Any use rock oil 20/50 in their r1150gs?

Hi,

I do quite a few miles per year on my bike and want to buy my oil in bulk.
Normally i use valvoline VR1 in my bike, but have came across this rock oil http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/201191390952?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT.Does anyone on here use it?

You can use fecking rice bran oil if it meets the spec

Yep, 120000 miles 2002 1150gs and I use rock oil 20/50 but not that one.

Rock Oil Guardian or the Gamma at about half the price.

Happy to be told I am using the wrong stuff , but it's quiter, cooler and uses less on hot long runs than 10/40, not that it uses much.

Always lots of talk about oil on here, quoting this and that, I am happy to try different stuff until I find what works for me

It was "SE" in 1983 It's a fecking tractor engine it'll run on peanut oil

My 2003 handbook says SF/SG/SH, just checked cos I picked up some Gulf 20W50 from the local farm supply place to save a special trip to pick up the usual GTX.

Increasingly I use what I can find in 20W50, all the expensive stuff is thinner nowdays.

Finding 20-50w around here is feckin impossible, seems like it's all 5-30, 10-40 or super new spec stuff for long life diesels.

I'm considering speaking to the local chip shop!

We stock 20w-50 semi synth Silkolene Super 4 amongst others up here in Shetland... I make sure we accommodate all the bikers inc tractor BM's as well as the usual cars selection...

Yes, but that's a turbo Subie, where the knock sensor doesn't work above 5k rpm and it's a race between that and the big ends if you run enough boost to detonate at redline. Anyway, if my bike survives the weekend ride I'll be draining out the GTX and putting in the lovely Such made Gulf 20W50 that's only SF.
