I am having problems fitting this - the pics tell the tale, after removing the bar end there is no room for the body of the throttle lock to insert into the bar. I have fitted it and screwed the bar end bolt in as tight as it will go and as can be seen there it needs to go in at least another inch before it will make contact with the throttle grip! :blast

Any ideas?

Does the threaded part in the bar not need to be removed or pushed into the bar ? Not sure.

I had the same issue when I fitted mine. I was pulling my hair out as the instructions were not clear enough. I'm finding it hard to remember what I did but I think that inner thread has to come out. Which ended up being the hard bit because mine was seized in. Did come out eventually tho. I think I put the bolt back in and whacked it out which dragged the thread out

Looks like the lock adjuster has seized in the bar.

Give it a liberal spray with plus gas, and after a wile put the original bolt back in,

Give it a few taps with a hammer to shock it free , If it moves, spray more plus gas to get if moving freely

If it moves, happy days .. fit the adjuster and tighten as normal ]

Cheers guys - looks like the Brummie screwdriver will be getting some use this weekend.:D

The standard end weights have a 22mm dia spigot and long M12 (fine) bolts that effectively extend the handlebar by about 25mm each side. If you have non standard bars that spigot might have been cut off.
Alternatively your grips are too far onto the handlebars.

BTW a good route to heavier bar ends would be solid steel bars with M12 turned down at one end screwed into a cut short handlebar. The outer end drilled M12 female to carry the end weights. Solid steel under the grips is heavier than aluminium handlebar tube.

Mmmmm, my bar ends do not look like that, they do not have the spigot. I wonder if the previous owner fitted different bars.
