It turns out the weekend jobs to brownie points exchange rate is not what it used to be.

I'd love to come on the sunday and give it a shot and meet you all - just one question - how tricky would the offroading be cos I've NEVER done anything more than negotiate my stony driveway... ?

There is nothing to worry about. If you take it at your own pace it should be OK. There is no section that is too long so if you decide its not for you you can easily get back on to tarmac in no time.

I think you will enjoy it and we will be taking it easy with the total understanding that there will be some like yourselves that are new to it all.

Please do not worry. We are all up there on the very bikes we need to go home with so there will be no heroics.

It turns out that when you say "I'm going to stay at home all Sunday and do those jobs I've been putting off for weeks", and then spend the day servicing your bike on the driveway, you don't actually get any credit for that at all. And also, on Saturday I took her shopping, and we went to Halfords (some good offers right now, BTW), that didn't seem to earn many points either.

might be going on Sat for a run too

i'd also say the condition of tracks the last time we were up there would make it quite challenging for a first timer.. water to go through and a few slightly tricky bits but definitely doable... Aidan done it and it was his first time.
we're more than happy to go at your pace and there'll be plenty about to help you.... no one dropped their bikes the last 2 times we we're up... oh i'm not counting Kyle's at the bottom of a hill coz he was mucking about

dont worry about the scary vids david that was just my dodgy camera work.
go at your own pace and dont try anything you feel unsure of.

no real obstacles... but water and a tricky downhill bit... you could give someone your bike just to get past anything you think is too challenging.
