I've been trying to get mine to work with an Autocom kit 3 system and a BMW system 4 helmet. The problem with these phones is that the Autocom jack is 2 pole, but the XDA's is 4 pole, so when you're using it as an MP3 player the sound's rubbish and the phone doesnt work properly either. I emailed Autocom about something completely different, and they have very kindly adapted their lead to fit the XDA's headphone socket instead (sent it yesterday and its coming back tomorrow-nearly as quick as Steptoe!). I'll let you all know if it works but top marks to Autocom and Richard Wallace for service.

Hope it does as I'm planning to get one of these in the near future and want to use it on my bike for GPS/music/phone with the Pro 7 Sport setup I've got.

I have a Orange M2000, which uses the same 2.5mm four pole socket I think. I had a lead made up for me by an electronics tech as my attempts kept falling apart... It works just fine so Autocom's should be the same too I guess.

Funny thing, they said over a year ago that they were going to get in some more phone leads to work with this sort of kit. I wonder what happened to them?

Regards,

Michael

well it works-but the MP3 player on the XDA isnt so good. the memory isnt that large so more than a couple of CD's clogs it up and the sound isnt great. it works better with a separate player (im using a £30 one from Dixons). Autocom didnt charge me for the lead, which was nice.

I have an Orange SPV M2000 ( same as XDA 2). bout 4 monthes old. Since moved over to Mac/ Nokia therefore surplus to requirements. Let me know if interested.
Regards,

For future reference you can go to Expansys and order a headset adapter, it's basically a wire that takes the 4 collar plug and provides you with a stereo 3.5mm headphone socket and standard 2.5mm phone socket - they even include a push to answer button.

They normally go for about 5 quid.
