just to throw a spanner in the works...... were'nt the all made in 2005/06 and just registered at later dates?
Anybody know how many were built???

VIN / frame number relates to the build date - it has no connection with the registration date.

HP2S's made...
Well, that was the Hp2 Enduro. Megamoto is also in this statistic. Anyhoo, I'm interested to find out the total number of HP2 Sport made. (Guess we will have to wait a year for that number!)
According to my dealer, who recently went to Berlin for a BMW dealer meeting, the HP2S have not been delivered as promised. Asia and oceania haven't gotten any bikes yet, Sweden got half of the promised 14 bikes, the same is true for Finland... and so on!
A reasonable estimate is less than 500 and more than 200 manufactured bikes yet.
For next year they will be able to make twice the amount. Sweden has been promised 14 more bikes.
The main reason for this is to deliver bikes to customers that ordered their bikes last year.
The reason for not being able to deliver last year was the global shortage of CF.
I heard last year from the BMW people at the swedish motorcycle expo that it takes three men three day's to manufacture the CF for the HP2 Sport. Also they assemble the engine by hand in a "White room". If the "white room" is called the white room due to it's colour or not, I do not know!

2517 Euro Spec bikes + 393 US spec bikes = 2910 HP2 Enduro's in total.
Nice to see it confirmed in print from BMW as well

I'm ZK99504 so that would indicate the 4th megamoto produced that came to the states. I did receive one of the first ones in the country. No ABS available at that time
