Anybody use this type of electronic Software/DVD/CD storage?

Big office sort out this week, anybody used this type of disk storage for their software / cd storage, if so, what do you think?

Clearly you lot haven't got a clue in terms of this particular 'ology'.

I have therefore ordered one entirely at my own risk. If it goes well, I will keep schtum and maintain my technological lead. If it turns out to be a bag o' shyte, I shall keep shtum to save face.

I had a Pioneer multi-CD changer for the car, and that seemed to be OK.

Waccy a photographer friend of mine has one and is totally p1ssed off, hasn't been able to get it work properly since she got it and f**k all help from Imation.

£92!!! (Amazon price). I use those CD wallets from PC World, e.g. 320 CDs/DVDs for £40, and "index" the disks with a quick "dir/s [cd drive]: > [disk label].txt" (although I believe you can get software to automate that). Then Start->Search to find a file, a quick rummage and I'm done.

whats the point when you can back everthing up on a 500gig external drive that you can get as cheap as £65

Very true but when the HDD crashes you lost it all!.......... A hard way to find out as a mate did. I prefer the HDD option but then again its all backed up on DVD anyway.
