Linesman trousers arrived, only tried them on but I like them, excellent fit and feel very comfy. I’ll play around with the armour, might finish up using my knee tubes with ghost armour in them.
Really good idea, the supershirt, beats riding round in a race shirt over armour.Love my AS Supershirt. In Aus (up to 38 degrees) I just wore it with a base layer and a motocross top to keep it clean. So comfortable and unobtrusive compared to an armoured jacket.
I like the trousers so I’ve now bought a Linesman jacket, another nice bit of kit.Linesman trousers arrived, only tried them on but I like them, excellent fit and feel very comfy. I’ll play around with the armour, might finish up using my knee tubes with ghost armour in them.
Did you buy the Gravel pants?I have the original Linesman Jacket which I bought 6 years ago, plus the more luxury waterproof jacket. The original jacket didn't come with armour and I had a Knox Action Shirt which worked well with it.
I bought the 1st Gen Supershirt when A-S ran their crowd funder for it, which I'm really impressed with. I did try swapping the armour in and out of the supershirt and the Linesman jacket, but I could see that repeatedly doing this may stress the armour pockets, so I bought the later edition of the Linesman Jacket that comes with armour, so I have a jacket to suit all of my riding requirements.
Last summer, my missus kindly bought me some Linesman Trousers for my birthday. I think this may have been an incentive, as they're still a touch tight, but I'll be getting into them this summer.
Next on the list are the Gravel Trousers. I've had my Rukka trousers for 9 years now and they're starting to look a bit tired, and hopefully soon, they'll be a bit big. I'd like to think the Gravel Trousers would be a good replacement for the Rukkas, but I've not seen any up close to make that assessment.
I'm thoroughly impressed with the stuff they produce. I also use my jackets for walking and holidays etc. as it's light weight, breathable and where it's supposed to be, properly waterproof.
Oh, I also have a pair of their Alpine? Gloves. Which are great, and have recently been improved.
Yep, got them a fortnight ago.Did you buy the Gravel pants?
Tempted to get some
I’ve ordered a pair, they look good and their product video explaining the design process and materials etc makes a lot of sense. See how they fit.Yep, got them a fortnight ago.
Great quality, feel great on, but also feel quite purposeful. Winter riding you'll need to put something on underneath, like long-johns or similar.
Spent all day in them one day last week, really comfortable. Have been using them this week for commuting to work, all good.
Really pleased with them.
I also bought the braces which look simple but practical, but haven't needed to attach them as yet.
Drop Adventure Spec an email and see what they say, be interested in the replyFirst true test of the Gravel Jacket and Pants today - just heading into the Harz mountains and it’s been pissing down hard for the last 3 hours.
Taking refuge in the Yellow Mc Arches for a coffee and warm up.
Not overly impressed so far.
I’m well layered up but doesn’t seem to keep any warmth in at all.
It’s only 6 degrees - yes, 6 !
I am dry (I think!) - but everything in the outer pockets is soaked.
Wish I was wearing my old Tourshell suit.
That tells a story.
Will know more when I strip off at destination in another 3 hours !
Interesting report back. There was a card in the pocket of my trousers which said as they're breathable, the pockets may suffer from condensation.I am dry (I think!) - but everything in the outer pockets is soaked.

Thanks for that. I think from what I’ve read they wanted it to be light weight, waterproof and suitable for layering and it sounds like they’ve achieved that, apart perhaps from the pockets. If it’s dry and tough I think I’ll be happy, that sounds like a pretty severe test you gave it.4 degrees over the top of the Harz and absolutley pissing it down.
The good news - bone dry underneath
Thought I was getting wet/damp but it was just the cold.
The two napoleon type pockets into the jacket inside under the storm flaps are dry.
The jacket side hand pockets are soaking. (Zips totally done up)
The lenses cleaning cloth for my specs I could literally wring water out of it. That’s not condensation.
Trousers leg side pockets also wet inside.
To be fair, happens on most jackets I have ever had.
Maybe it was just the cold weather and wind but upper body was cold all day today, even with 3 layers on under the jacket.
Legs a bit cold with my merino leggings on.
The Gravel suit keeps you dry in serious rain but offers zero thermal properties at all.
Probably says all that in the sales spiel if I had read it.
