Anyine going to Dent in May?

The road works are only between Inveralmond and Broxden. I was there 2 weeks ago with no delay.

Two questions...
Who are the robbing b*stards in Aberdoom :-) ? Clarks/Shirlaws/Ecosse?
&
FIRE :-O - housefire or did your bike go up?

Andy

Sadly John Clark - I was forced to go to them together a zfe replaced as my fuel gauge wasn't working.

following that the zfe burnt out on the way to work last Thursday - allegedly due to the aux wired to the wrong plug - strange as its been wired that way all the time.

Aha, had to google ZFE though (I get it now), I've not used Clarks as I tend to stick with HF in Inverness as it's where I got the bike and they're a little closer. I assume you're not recommending Clarks?
I'm not a fan of the Canbus system either - mainly down to ignorance, I never enjoyed doing standard bike electrics so never bothered my backside to understand this new way of doing it... Tis all black magic!
Hope it gets sorted and you're able to join us!

Ian macdonald on here looks after my bike. But on this occasion we were out of options it had to be a BMW dealer. Yet again John Clark have let me down. I am waiting to hear from the service manager to see what course of action I've to take. Added to my woo my back up plan taking my van is I off the plan it was hit last Sunday. Not enough time to get my triumph on the road. Grrr

And I was thinking you had two back ups and now they're both down. Bad week.

I should be off the day or two before so if the weather is half decent I may head off early, go for a wander en route

Either way I'll post intentions on here. If I came down on the Friday, I would be going over the Lecht

'Course you can...

Plus 2 please :D
We've decided to go for it so if we can get packed Thursday night and drag ourselves out of bed early enough on Friday we might just manage the 08.00am start from Moray and tag along behind the others :augie

Mike.

Great to hear Mike,

I'll be setting off (probably with SteveT and son) from Lhanbryde at around that time. Speaking to Iain (The Stimulator) it would make sense for us to pick him up en route at the Telford Bridge junction at Craigellachie as he'll be coming from just the other side of Maggieknockater, I can PM you with my mobile number if you want?
SteveT still uses a pair of cans and string so I won't bother texting/calling him, I'll pop down the hill and let him know face to face :-) Unless of course he sees this conversation on here ;-)

Meet you at Persie - here's hoping for a dry run!

no worries Iain, we 'should' be there around 1000hrs :-) ... give or take...
Google says 2hrs 22 minutes from here to Persie (!) so we may need to leave a little earlier to avoid missing out on Gerard's most generous hospitality, will speak to the all and see what the consensus is... or we could just ride a little quicker :-)

Andy (frantically searching for my fancy dress gear ;-) ).

I'll try and get there five minutes before you to make sure your group don't take the last bacon roll! :beerjug::thumb:thumb:beerjug:

I'm going to go with XCWeather at the moment..definitely warmer than the Met Office but still a little damp maybe :thumb

So....if I go for 10/11 bodies that should do it easy? The beauty is that all the makings are gratis...left over from catering.... so it makes no difference.

Post code PH10 7LQ....A93 travelling south, pass B950 to Kirkmichael/Pitlochry, past famous Blackloonies hall, pass a disused being revamped kirk on left, big white house on right, road end 250 yards past kirk with a sign that says 'Persie', 200 yards wiggle through gate in dyke (sign showing 'House' to right) follow road up to house. We will be in the conservatory at the left hand end of the house as you see it. The area in front of the house is gravel. If you'd rather not park on it, go round right hand end of house, park on tarmac at back and walk round to front. Crapper will be available within!

Great instructions thanks.

Don't mind parking on gravel, quite happy when stationary, it's just the riding on it I struggle with.

:eek::eek::eek:

See you Friday

Procrastinating again :blast

This weekend was to be a relaxing break and more importantly a total change of routine for my partner after having just had 7 pretty rotten months after a diagnosis nobody ever wants..She's happy camping but doesn't cope very well with cold weather so add the expected wet to that and it becomes a different scenario altogether.
We should have booked accommodation but didn't know what was happening with things until recently so it has to be camping.
Suppose what I am trying to say is don't wait for us, if we do go we'll see folks there.

Skye is looking positively balmy in comparison however so maybe some wild camping in the north could be in order

You might find there are a couple of last minute bnb call offs at the pubs. There were last year iirc. Post a message in the main thread and drop young Wheeler (Micky) a pm? Its a good do. Maybe just what your partner needs?

Thank's really appreciate that :thumby:, more undecided now though :(

She's been looking at wild camping on Skye (even though we've done it all before on 2 Munro rounds ) and also some of the glamping huts available so I'll leave the final decision up to her tomorrow night!

If we don't get to Dent this year there's always the next.
