Anyone after cush drive rubbers for an XChallenge or maybe Xcountry?

Not got my X-Country yet, but hoping to pick it up in the morning. I think I had better have a set for putting in the spares cupboard if I can be added.

Out of interest, what sort of mileage is cushdrive play shoing up? The bike I have bought is just shy of 20,000, which I don't think it a lot for a motorbike that has mostly be used for longer runs. Happy to be advised though. I am looking forward to joing the X Files. :thumby:

No hard a fast rule I think. Depends upon what the bikes been used for and how its been ridden.

Rotational play in the rear sprocket carrier indicates worn cush drive rubber, whereas lateral play indicates worn bearings in the carrier.

Bearings easy, and until now padding the cush drives with bits of old inner tube provided a temp fix to worn rubbers.

In essence, don't worry unduly. Bikes are generally good.

Much obliged. :thumby:

Looks like we might be there at last!

Yesterday i received a parcel from the manufacturer with the revised samples in.

I've been over them with the vernier and they measure up much better alongside the OEM items to the point they are just about there:

Put me down for a set please - I know you cotacted me somehow, but I can't find your message to send you an email. I am not good with computer things.

The fit is good, with the cush drive being a "snug" fit in the hub. These were tried in my own hub, which has 25k miles on it, so it's showing some wear but the rubbers were still a huge improvement on the worn originals. Other bikes may feel a little tighter, but this is a good thing!.

Regards cost, i've sold a few more than expected, so this will allow me to bring the final price down below the original £60 quoted to £55 plus P+P ( an additional £5 assuming postage to mainland UK).

Disclaimer.

Please remember these are pattern parts and i haven't had the development budget of BMW to test them. While i am happy to deal with any issues regarding material quality or workmanship as far as the original purchaser is concerned, i cannot extend this to cover to any related parts that may or may not fail in respect to the use of these cush drive rubbers. Neither will i accept liability for any accident that may occur through the use of these rubbers (not sure how they are likely to cause an accident, but i need to cover myself!). In short you use these rubbers at your own risk.

If you (the purchaser) do not accept with this i am happy to return deposits.

Finally..
As before, i would appreciate the outstanding balance via paypal (friends and family) before shipping. I will email everyone that has sent a deposit so far with a final balance outstanding, especially when considering the overseas orders.

Paypal address is: [email protected]

If you haven't sent a deposit over your, name will have been added to the reserve list. I will be getting a second batch made up, as soon as i start getting good feedback on the first batch.

UK orders will be sent recorded delivery, alternatively you are welcome to arrange collection if you are around Hampshire/ Oxfordshire.

I am also in the process of talking with a merchant to ensure ongoing future supply, watch this space.

As always I fail to read all of the post, so I wasn't aware of a deposit. However as I intend to keep my bike after my African trip, I need the comfort of your obsolete parts. Please consider mess a firm order

Apologies for not getting emails out straight away, currently struggling to find enough hours in a day to keep up with everything. And then there's the day job that keeps getting in the way as well. Hope to catch up in the next day or so.
