Seems simple...but last night whilst perusing this great site my screen went haywire with 1,000's pixels etc etc. I couldn't see the screen so couldn't turn the PC of as nornal...had to use the plug
Anyway...took out the graphics card and cleaned it of dust etc etc but now when I switch on as windows welcomes me, a small box now appears and says ( something like ) 'cannot recognise user profile, contact your administrator'
I have ( no choice ) to close this box then another opens up and states it is creating a temporary user log in for me !!
If I go into settings all my photos, files etc etc are there and I can access them but the desktop and user are temporary only..so for example logging into this site, it won't automatically fill in my log in details and I have to do everything everytime I boot in as I start from scratch again.
Was going to take it in for maintenance ( new usb 2 and maybe a flat screen ) update tonight but would like this solved.
Has it happened to anybody else ?
Ta Kenny
PS Screen seems to be working OK now after I gently wiped the graphics card ... just this non user profile recognition to sort out
