I'm booked in for this. The two friends that were going with me have had to postpone to later in the year. So I'll be Billy Nomates.

Travelling down from Scotland on the Thursday before and staying at the Copperbeech.

Any other GSers going to be on that one?

Kai

I'll be there!

Hi Spy,

I've been meaning to post the same question... I obviously missed your previous post

I'll be there for level 1, 14/15th... also on me own as a billynomates, but coming from the other end of the country (nr Southampton). Just got joining details in the post yesterday. First time I've done anything like this...

I'm staying in the Abercrave Inn

Look forward to meeting you there, PM me if you want to chat beforehand. (Possibly meet up Thursday night?) :beerjug:

Glad to see there's at least one GSer on the course :thumb

Have just spent the weekend doing the same course (in South Africa). Can't believe I didnlt do it earlier - what a blast!! Havent had this much fun since my honeymoon :)
Has given me a whole new respect for the bike and what it is capable of ... also surprised myself with what I am capable of.

A word of advice ... make sure you have proper riding boots with you ... even a 650 is damn heavy if it falls on your ankle. One of the lads in our group would certainly be in a wheelchair today if he didn't have the correct boots on.

Cheers
Dale

I've just done Level 1 (probably Level 0.5 to be honest :) ) and it was great fun, and I'll be booking up another one at some point. I fully agree with what Dale said about boots too.

level 1

Just done level this week, aching all over. But excellent time had and stayed in the copper beech only 50 yards from the abercrave.

You definately non roads boots, 1 broken leg on the course yesterday. If you don't own any just hire them as they have loads same a jacket and trousers. Only thing is they supply knee pads but now't for you shoulders elbows etc

Go for it and have fun. It won't matter that your on your own.

Well it lived up to its reputation in many ways. Absolutely great fun with a bit of terror thrown in.

Not sure about the casualty count, but not many failed to complete the course (there were 28 to start with). Injuries seemed to be to the ankle, hand / fingers and collar bone.

I'm so glad that I didn't do it on a 1200 either. The instructors may make it look easy on the Advs, but some of the people on 12s really didn't look like they were having fun.

Off to invest in some TKC80s and some big boots ... :thumb

You lightweights, I was there on an HP2, great fun. Best day I've ever had on a 1200 :D

Gimme a chance. It was my introduction to off roading on a bike. As I said, great fun.

I had a look at the HP2s. Very tasty. Did you do some supermoto stuff too? I sawthem changing the wheels.

Glad you enjoyed it. :thumb I was there on the Saturday and with the street wheels, the HP2 is a right hooligan bike. :D

I Think I saw your group leaving the quarry at about 16:00 hrs.

Saw a rider at the front on a HP2

I was the big motorcaravan with the trailer holding you all up on the raod :)

On Saturday evening/noght several hundred people decented on the quarry for a rave. The Sunday group spent the day doing the off-road jive!
