Anyone buy a F800 Adventure?

photos Luke!! love this bike but wont be buying one yet because ive only just got my f800gs...i might tell the mrs theyve introducted a raft of new life saving safety features, usually does the trick

When going back to collect my 12GS from service and warranty work I was looking over the 800GSA.
I parted company with the F8GS in favour of the 1200 but have to say I am quite taken by the 800GSA.

I took some pics to kill the wait time. The seat certainly looks more padded but sadly it's a tippy toe jobby for me.

This is a top spec model in Sand Rover colour scheme at £9563.00

I think it looks fantastic! :thumb2

No but I am slightly jealous of anyone who does buy one.

I'd add adventure-spec.com crash bars & engine guard. Adventure bike warehouse.co.uk spotlights & a headlamp lens cover, all straight away.

Then new exhaust, topbox, recover seat by Tony-archer & sat nav..

be interesting as to what fits the ADV bike with the slightly wider front end! How long before someone up loads a well farkles 800ADV photo! :D

Great pics , thanks for posting them.

The combination of better weather protection (wider plastics/better screen), improved seat , yet keeping the low F800 twin fuel consumption and running costs is so tempting.

Went to take a look at this bike on Sat. Has improved all the areas I would have wanted improved if the bike was to be tweaked. Looks set to take over where the Africa Twin left off as the adventure traveller of choice. Brilliant bike.

Ok, I'm going to try and post some pics....

Bloody hell, it worked! By the way, the disks were cold when the pictures were taken! :augie I just need to get my back garden gate widened a little now. As you can imagine, it is a big struggle to get it through there!

I'm so glad I waited and settled for this model. The travel addition means it is pretty well specified and at a reasonable price, though it was more that I first expected to spend on my first 'proper' bike.

Now I just have to endure the running-in period. I wonder if anyone can shed some light here... The manual seems to say 500-1200 KM whereas my dealer was certain that it is 600-1000 miles. Which is it? During this time I'll keep the ROM below 5000 as per the manual and avoid long stretches of continuous speed. I also guess it's a good idea to use the gears alot to avoid loading the engine too much? I'm rather paranoid about getting this bit right, so if anyone has any helpful advice, I'm all ears :-)

It sounds like quite a 'tickety-tick' kind of engine, particularly when it's warm. Perhaps i'm just not used to hearing bike engines these days! I expect the thinner running-in oil makes it noisier too...

I would imagine the running in period is 600 miles keeping the revs lowish, than after the 600 mile service keeping it nice a smooth an till 1000 miles. I think that was what mine was but that was 41,000 miles ago.

I'm soon to work for a BMW dealer so I shall enquire about it when I'm next in. I find the 800 engine very Noisey but that's normal!

Hope that helps,

Looks magic Luke. Really like them. Will most likely change mine up to a adventure next year. Have u got luggage for it?

Nice looking bike.
Leave the gate as it is, if you struggle to get it in/out then so will the thieving scrotes giving you more time to take the appropriate action.

I haven't got any luggage yet but I will want to get some soon. To be honest, I've had a quick look at the Touratech website (only because they were the only name I could remember) and after seeing how much stuff is available, I took the decision to bury my head back in the sand! My brain is still fried from choosing a new bike!
