Anyone buy a F800 Adventure?

It's just the standard Motorrad skid pan. Had to buy it separately but from looking about online it seemed to be as good as most options giving decent coverage. I believe these are made by Touratech?. I think it'll take me a while to get used to how much dearer accessories are for these bikes over the Tigers....hopefully you get what you pay for as I do take my bikes off road.

Well TT is good stuff - some fella`s on the site rate it - I do - but its expensive and bizarrely people are made to wait months for it. I`m always amazed by this as with mass manufacture this should not happen!

Ride safe mate

All the piccies are far too clean. At 7k, i'm currently in Marrakesh and heading south.

I've just had the Heidenau K60's fitted. My bike now has the same road noise i remember from my old Landrover!

Problems so far (7k miles):
1. BMW Navigator Adventure mount replaced with original Garmin Montana mount by dealer, so i can get directions through intercom. Why would BMW remove the audio connectors on a branded mount cable when there is no bluetooth option??
2. Lost one centre stand nut and the other was working its way out after 4k. BMW France replaced FOC
3. BMW dealer in Casablanca butchered by rims getting the K60's fitted. I have no idea why i didn't change the tyres myself when i have all the stuff with me

Only one observation - for the Adv I did not expect a plastic sump guard

I had a WTF moment when i realised it did not come with the metal sump guard that you see in the promotional photo's.
Seemed like penny pinching for the model. Have the BMW now and nothing bad has happened...

Excellent ride

Comfortable even with the low seat. Had it for two weeks and the only thing that bugs me (All in my head mind you) is the fact that I cant flat foot it even with the low seat. Thinking of buying the 35MM lowering kit from Touratech (any opinions on this kit?). A mechanic friend of mine said to just adjust up the forks on the triple tree about 20MM but I just don't know.

Privateer, nice bike! I've had my red one a couple of months now and really like it. Came from a Triumph Tiger 800XC. Very similar but so different at the same time. GSA was definitely more comfy for me long distance. Did Glasgow to Leicester a couple if weeks ago and was fine where I know leg and hand cramp would have killed me on the Tiger.

Anyhoo....back to the point. I only have a 31" leg and chose not to take the low seat as the demonstrator had one and I could feel the ridges in the plastic tray through the foam (or what there was). I also didn't wasn't to get a factory lowered F800GS which they had as I wanted the full travel as I do ride off road. So I've got the standard saddle and can get the ball of one foot on the ground, flat if I slide an ass cheek over. It is all in your head to be honest as this is pretty normal coming from motocross where your never expected to get both feet flat on the ground. I'm sure it's something you'll get used to in time :)

Doofry!did you have the option of the adventure factory lowered or the normal 800? Thanks

It's just the standard F800 that has a factory lowered option I'm afraid, though hyperpro do lowering spring kits at various ride heights.

Thanks,I have mine lowered with hyper pro at the moe, liked the idea of a 800 adventure but I'm a short arse!
