I had one 10 years ago.Liked it on paper but in reality it had too many niggles for me to get along.Beautiful to look at and good power on top (for a aircooled twin at least) but narrow power band like a RD350.Everything between 6 and 8000 rpm.Non-linked brakes that opened up because the ABS triggered every time the rear got light braking hard.Transmission jumped out of gear between 4 and 3 or was it between 3 and 4 gear...don't remember.Small bags,missing centerstand.Jugs touched ridden hard on the track and barely kept up on long straights with Japanese 600's...
Reason I ask I saw a used one that gave me thoughts...talk me out of it...
Wonder why BMW never came out with a modern R1200S-LC ?
The R1200RS looks good but after a testride I thought the GS is much better when it came to handling with TL,ground clearance and instruments.The bar-graph tach is just stupid.
I guess what I really want is a R1300XR...
