I try and go every year to the Newark show, as its a great place to bimble about for a couple of hours. Even better someone handed me their pass to get in as I was walking in so it was free this year. I like to not plan and just go when I have few hours free, so rode over Sunday afternoon for a couple of hours. 'Jules' (Julian Ryder) is always there the ex MotoGP commentator as a stall holder selling interesting/random stuff.

Just a shame I didnt need anything as the tools for sale are eclectic and extensive.

Great fun !

I had a ride over and a wander around for a couple of hours Saturday morning, bumped into a few folk that I know.
Could not be tempted to get the old wallet out. :)

I make sure the old one gets little use so the thought of a new one is a distant dream.

Went to this year's event today, saw Steve Plater(TT winner and one time fastest man over the mountain section) introduce former 500 grand prix rider and World Champion Wayne Gardner, bought some nice refurbed wheels for my kettle too20250111_122040.jpg

I went on Saturday afternoon, first time I’ve been to this show, was really good. Picked up various bits and pieces for my airhead and BSA A10. Saw lots of lovely bikes. Was there about four hours.

I went for my annual pilgrimage today, I thought there was fewer stands there this year in all the halls. I always normally go on the bike mainly as the Newark ring road is normally a nightmare, but wimped out today as the bike is clean . Fortunately the Newark ring road was super quiet so it was 30 minutes door to door with a good pace achieved on the A46.

Admittedly it was about 13:30 and some were packing up, but I love catching bits of conversation as I walked around...

1st "..the average age is quite worrying.."
2nd "..I'll be happy if I make £1K over the weekend..."
3rd "..I've sold more in the last hour than the whole of yesterday.."

I can't help feeling the show is on the decline, there was plenty of space in most of the halls but maybe it was my timing.

*edit* purchased a pack of nitrile gloves, didn't find any tyre levers that I was looking for.

I went to Stafford last March, it was really down on pre Covid numbers. You could easily walk around all the halls and the jumblers had loads of room. Its as if folk have permanently changed their behaviour post Covid. Folk have just relied on ebay or owners forums for parts, wheras I would spend hours rustling through junk to find an elusive part!

I went after the breakfast on Saturday.

Car park full but the show wasn’t packed.

I didn’t see any bargains in the bikes for sale.

Bought some tools.

If I had known hydraulic hoses were being made as you wait I would have bought the clutch lines from my R1200C.

I took his card but will not match the show pricing if I take the lines to him!
