Now I'm not sure how long you chap/est have been riding motorcycles but it not like a new BMW Motor car !! The forks will be stressed by the nature of the road and will give a false view of the the bars on the bike/road.
You can frig around with the nuts, bolts, head lock, forks, and all the stuff. But if you can ride and look ahead not at the bars and feel you are enjoying the ride, just stop trying to make things which are are not!!
Not a perfect world ...just a GS make in German. (if you had a jap cruch rocket the bar are so small you would not see any problem.
Just ride the bike!!! and enjoy. Also read 'Phil Irving motorcyle enginering' and then you will under stand the basic of why your bike does what it does.
As stated before.
(Well what about the camber of the road..if you are (I guess) on the left hand side of the road you will need, by default to steer to the right!!..and not know it!
Case Solved!)
Sorry for rant...but get so concerned with let try and fix it..It only a motorcycle, make of plastic and metal. Not a two ton car.

07 R1200GS My bars go slightly to the right on some camber with a little power on and tyre still on road.
Well, no offence, but going with that line of thought we can all happily ride along with the front wheel pointing straight ahead and the bars at a 45 degree angle!!!
