honest opinion
When I saw it at the NEC I didn't like it - it just didn't have the presence of my 1150 ADV.
Then I saw Micky's last week at Rainbow, coming out of the crate, and my immediate reaction was it looked better than I remembered - I even wonder if the NEC bike had mock up crash bars - they seem more solid now somehow.
Having ridden it on TKC's this weekend (albeit briefly) I am even more impressed. It does feel more substantial than I thought although there is still too much plastic for me. It handles and rides just as well as it should and the standard large footpegs are much better than the smaller GS ones when wearing offroad boots.
The power is great -as you'd expect - and as you can see we threw them around a bit but only on the level by the buttie van.
The instructors at BMW Offroad make you sick!!
They jumped on these Adventures for the first time on Friday morning and the stuff they were doing within ten minutes of being at the site just had us all stood in awe - TOP BLOKES.
My suggestion, FWIW, would be to test ride before you buy, as always, as it is a BIG bike and once full of 33 litres of fuel would take some lifting up - even though we've been shown how

Don't you worry, Sherpa could fall of a Honda C90.
The fact he is that tall doesn't seem to make any difference whatsoever.
