Anyone fancy a wee run in Donegal tomorrow?(and aftermath pics & video)

Sorry I missed the craic boys, looks like youse had a ball. I was the wrong end of the county. Went up via Draperstown/Plumbridge to Donegal Town. Managed a skelp round Lough Eske and the Blue Stacks after the business was done, followed by lunch at Biddy's at Barnesmore. Back to Pettigo and along Boa Island to Omagh and home. 249 miles on the new Airhawk, well chuffed with it.

Errol, good to see the new toy, health to ride her.

Thanks lads, it's a great bike. Don't get me wrong, I miss the GS but I can't have both of them at the same time. Hope to see you both soon up there. It wont be the last time this summer as there is many more routes to explore with everyone.

Very tempting.....

What time you leaving?

Where you staying?

What time back roughly (I got to get some work done this week FFS :D )

Just a wee word of warning......

The video clips were taken at the start of the day on easy wee tracks, and everything got tougher after that. The next visit is aimed at some stronger mud, blood and tears stuff. Yes, anyone will be able to do it, but if you're not prepared for a rescue truck home and severe repair bill, don't go.

Right now I'm a wee bit hacked off that I have to work the rest of the week :spitfire

Sounds a bit hard-core for an off-road beginner, think I'll give this one a miss boys. Catch you on the next road ride ;)

Not hardcore at all, it's just that things do happen. Something that was pointed out to me last week by someone who's been involved in organising various bike events for years is that a large number of people don't go into things with their eyes open. I'm just trying to make people think before they take their big, heavy, expensive motorbikes into situations where it or they are likely to get damaged.

What was originally planned is not as simple as the few gravel tracks shown on the videos, and it'd be unfair to the lads who are going specifically to try harder stuff for someone to go along and expect to do surfaced tracks all day. There were things a couple of lads wanted to try on Saturday that I wasn't about to go near..... and it wasn't my first time off road.

If you're determined to do it, you'll be fine. If you're not sure.... it's probably best that you don't.

All IMHO :thumb

I'm on anakees :D and before the tank tracks and one other run to Donegal i never went off road in my life :D

I don't think we will be doing anything too difficult.... we're doing it for the fun of it :)

See, not hardcore :thumb

shuck, thunder... it's not going to be too hardcore honest, we'll leave no one behind if you find a track thats seems a bit too much for you you can have a wee rest for ten mins or take pics while who wants to try it has a go... we'll come back to meet you :D

or anyone else that wants to come :D
